Bling on!!!
So it has become very apparent that my raison d’etre for Instagram is to find accessory sites. I am a sucker for that item that is fresh and new. Let’s face it what else can make your outfit?? Great accessories! Dress up a white tee with a statement necklace, LBD with a clutch in a bold tone, button down shirt layered necklaces, I mean it can go on and on and there are so many choices. Accessories are a cheap and fun way to play with color or trends without investing a fortune. Pantone says that emerald green is the color of 2013, but why buy into a whole wardrobe when you can buy a few pieces to update your style and make sure you look good in green. I know personally me and yellow are like oil and water, so when that color is the trend I might but earring or a bangle but that’s as far as it will go. I digress here are some new sites that I found via instagram…

Trending Ideas
In an effort to revitalize my wardrobe and support the economy I came across style.com trend alert for spring. Images are from the site but I plan on using the ideas to "reinvent"myself and my wardrobe. I feel that spring allows us to start over after the bulky drudgery of winter. Its so hard to be fashionable and warm if you are located anywhere outside the southern hemisphere lol. So here are some ideas to breath new life into your work wardrobe. While I'm sure that some of these ideas may be a bit far fetched for boardrooms and staff meetings, use them as inspiration. Personally I am ALLLLL about the suit on the right. My color palette this year is black and white with the occasional pops of color.

Chinese food oh my!
After work I decided that I wanted Chinese so I took myself down to my favorite spot on 8th btwn 30th and 29th. It's called urban kitchen and has the best chicken and broccoli ever! Even though i just had it my mouth waters thinking about it (mmmmmm). They also have Vietnamese spring rolls that are suburb, light but filling. The menu is either meat or vegetarian. It's a limited offering but so far everything I've ever had is scrumptious. They also offer a dinner deal for $9.95 that includes soup and a entree. A great deal for the cash strapped working masses.

Kloset Envy
Looking of unique fashion? Check out Kloset Envy on IG. The chick who styles the clothes (Jai Nice) does a great job off mixing it up. I love her style and that she takes risks. They have super fun and trendy pieces.

Renovating an icon
So recently Macy's has taken to renovating their interior and expanding certain areas like shoes (be still me beating heart). On a recent shopping spree I had the chance to examine some floors and ride the wooden escalator. If you know anything about Macy's history you know that the wooden escalator has been there since the store was built. I managed to take some shots.
Enjoy!

Pio pio Rico
Last night my friend and I went to check out a new Peruvian restaurant called Pio Pio Rico. They are located on 8th btwn 31st and 33rd right over by Madison Square Garden. The interior itself was small and cozy, decorated with South American art. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with the beans and rice, esta muy sabrosa! The meat was tender, moist and full of flavor that you could see. My friend ordered the steak with the maduros with beans and rice. Same thing, great flavor and the manduros were sweet and ripe. For desert they serve a tres leches, and lets just say that I would have love to motorboat the plate it was that good. Light, moist, sweet, but not over the top as some places serve. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for good Spanish food in the Hells Kitchen.

Le home goods?
So once again while aimlessly walking the streets of NYC I came across a fun homegoods store on 9th ave btwn 18th and 19. Of course naturally I had to stop in recalling the three years of french I took in high school. They offered everything from pillows, coasters, and crystal decanters (which I am going back to buy!). However the space (like most spaces in NYC) was tight, there are plenty of intresting items to look at. I managed to snag some photos. If you are looking for intresting home pieces this may be a great stop as it is reminiscant of ABC home, minus the space and price!
Enjoy!

Mexican in Chelsea
So last night I met up with some friends for a going away party at Tequila Chitos on 23rd. A total hole in the wall but worth it. Although the area is small is was authentically decorated in Mexican knickknacks. Extremely colorful and they used Mexican blankets as table covers. For the food it was about as authentic as one can expect for NYC. We ordered guacamole which was made table side. The fajitas were served with corn tortillas an sizzling hot. For desert we ordered sopapillas, I was a bit upset as they weren't that authentic. Traditionally it's made with bread dough fried and covered with honey and cinnamon. These were corn chips fried. Overall a great place to meet and have a fairly authentic Mexican dinner.
