ladies, lets talk about starting with a foundation for your outfit. BRAS..... If your like me bra shopping is the one form of shopping I'd avoid at all costs. But its a fundamental foundation for wearing clothes, the right bra will make you look perky and 10 lbs slimmer. Trust me, I've seen it on myself. So recently I realized that I needed some new bras, the ones I have about a year old and really non-supportive. So I went to barenecessities.com and took a look see, then I though, when was the last time I got a fitting? Longer than I will admit here, so after yelp'ing I came across intimacy NYC and was like well lets give it a whirl.
I went to the location on Third Ave and met with Eloisa, who promptly assessed my needs and proceeded to find stlyes that were cute and supportive. Now if you know this, good for if not here is a lesson, a good bra will life your breasts up, support them lovingly and make you look 10 lbs lighter. Eloisa pointed out that I was wearing the wrong size, I was closer to a 40F. Instead of measuring me she took a look and knew exactly the style and sizes I needed. Eloisa says that the motto at Intimacy is to fit your body, so that means understanding different bras fit differently. After trying on about 5 styles it was time to narrow them down, but not to worry she made me a wish list. So when I go back they can pull up the styles that I like and make my life easier.
While the store doesn't look like there is much, they do have drawers of bras. Not to mention swimwear, which if you are larger than a C you know its challenging to find one that has support. So ladies take a moment go get fitted and see the difference in how you stand and even how your clothes drape. I for one will definitely be back to shop.

Fall 50 for under $50
Thanks to yahoo! news and Pop Sugar they put together a list of falls top 50 items for $50 or under. Which is great for me who is currently unemployed but looking to revamp my wardrobe. Of course number 1 is the LBD which Zara has done for this fall. It also seems like kitten heels are making their comeback this fall. These are great wardrobe items and serve a great purpose for interviews. And lets not forget statement necklaces (which of course I sell at my boutique) which can wake up any outfit no matter how mundane. So click the link to see the slide show that popsugar put together. Also dont forget to check out my e-boutique and I was featured again on dearandi.com again! Man i <3 her="" lol="">

Career advice from IMAN?
So leave it to Rachael Zoe to do a women in fashion series, which I love. These are women that I admire and wish to emulate and try to incorporate their advice into my life. The recent one is with Iman, and she was the first black super model and married to David Bowie, and I think she is a classic beauty. In the Q&A she speaks that women should network, as we love to lift up other women. As far as fashion goes she wants women to maintain their femininity and not hide in men's clothes. Want to know more? Click the link to read the full Q&A. What is your take away?

Fashion Mavens
So I've been thinking about the women who drive my personal style and the I would love to emulate. many women come to mind naturally first is my mother who always encouraged me to wear what I wanted (and I'm sure there were times that she regretted that lol), my aunt Theresa who is the embodiment of bohemian chic, my grandmother on my stepdads side who was casual chic, and im sure I can continue. As I got older of course my tastes changed and I wen through various phases. As a adult there are three women that I love their style and they drive me to want to dress better. Iris Apfel who in her golden years is designing jewelry, doing various collaborations and has a bohemian uptown aesthetic. Of course Daphne Guinness who takes extreme risks and is the embodiment of haute couture. And last but not least a friend of mine Keda whose street style effortless blends hightops with thick gold chains to heels and snapbacks. As a female we go through so many incarnations in style and all of these women have helped shaped my style sense over the years. So to all the people that have shaped and continue to help my style evolve thanks!

New wrist swag
So yesterday I got my awesome new bracelet courtesy of E.Kammeyer.com. I ordered the blush as I wanted to start with some neutrals first. I have been obessing about owing one of these since I had the pleasure of meeting her in person at a Poshmark event in NYC. I actually ordered mine via Poshmark (bkblueagave is my closet name) and I got it two days later. Not only is it super cute and different but it came in a cure burlap sack with a wonderful handwritten thank you! So if your looking for some wrist swag that's not your average item click over to her site and see what she has to offer. Stylist Liz Teitch has also featured her items on her blog!
